HelloπŸ‘‹πŸ₯Ά      Over the last 24hours it has suddenly become quite cold here. Cold enough, I decided, to put another crochet blanket on the bed. That brings the total up to three. At least one stays on the bed all year, with another added when Autumn starts. And the blanket chosen for this sudden chill? My version of Attic24 's Hydrangea Blanket ! Hydrangea Blanket      I made this a few years ago - it took me a couple to make it too - and it has been a feature of my Autumn/Winter bedding ever since! It's quite heavy and there is quite a lot of yarn here all taken from the household stash. It was supposed to be as per the pattern but I think I went wrong on the stitch count, because it very obviously got too wide. So I decided to work into the other side of the starting chain, meaning that my stripes go up the bed, rather than across it, and I decided to mirror the colours I'd already done on the other side. Mirrored Stripes    ...

Good Morning!πŸ‘‹πŸ˜€      Did you notice I've had a comment on one of my posts? Many Thanks to Caz for taking the time to write!πŸ˜ƒ      Now this third project took it's time to develop. I actually started it before Christmas (last year), hoping to have it made in time for a present, but it didn't work out like that.      It's another hat, and for some reason I really wanted it to be something I had not only made but had worked out too, so I downloaded one of those circular hat size templates ( This One ) to at least help me get the size right.      I already had the colours chosen in my head, and the type of stitch I wanted to use but when I started... things got trickier. For a start, having retrieved the yarn from its bag, I wasn't sure I'd have enough of it to actually finish the hat! Then, I started playing with the notion of using the two colours together as one yarn - creating a sort of marled effect . An...

Hello!πŸ‘‹πŸ˜€      It's day three of Blogtober 2025 and I'm back! I'm as surprised as you are!      So here's the next project I worked on back in the early part of the year - a Sideways Tunisian Crochet Bobble Hat ! Yes, it is quite big. But at least it's warm!     I'd had this idea in my head for quite a while but didn't have the nerve to try it until January.     I first made a Sideways Bobble Hat when I was a knitter, from a well explained free pattern, worked in Garter Stitch , from WoolyWormhead . I only ever made two - a big one and a small one, but since becoming a Crocheter - and especially after learning Tunisian Crochet - I have often wondered if I could make a crocheted version, using the knitting pattern as a guide.     And as it turns out, I could!πŸ˜€ And it's not too shabby either!     The main yarn is King Cole Big Value Chunky in the colour Bluegrass . The contra...

Hello!πŸ‘‹πŸ˜€      The early part of the year turned out to be quite productive really, by my usual standards anyway!      The first thing I made was Super Chunky Scarf for my Father. I wasn't sure if he was going to wear it because to be honest, I thought I'd made it too big. And I'm not going to say it's my best work because it isn't, but as I'm not used to working with this weight of yarn I think I've done as well as I could have.     I started it on the 3rd of January and finished it on the 18th of January, working on it in the evening for no more than 2 hours, and mostly just one, so it's possibly one of my quickest makes ever!     I've used a 12mm Bamboo hook and a "new to me" stitch - the Camel Stitch . I do quite like it but I'm wondering if it's a stitch that looks better worked in a thinner yarn.     The Blue and Grey yarn is Hayfield Bonus Super Chunky and the Purple is fr...
