Blogtober 2025 : Post 2

    Hello!👋😀

The early part of the year turned out to be quite productive really, by my usual standards anyway!

The first thing I made was Super Chunky Scarf for my Father. I wasn't sure if he was going to wear it because to be honest, I thought I'd made it too big. And I'm not going to say it's my best work because it isn't, but as I'm not used to working with this weight of yarn I think I've done as well as I could have.

I started it on the 3rd of January and finished it on the 18th of January, working on it in the evening for no more than 2 hours, and mostly just one, so it's possibly one of my quickest makes ever!

I've used a 12mm Bamboo hook and a "new to me" stitch - the Camel Stitch. I do quite like it but I'm wondering if it's a stitch that looks better worked in a thinner yarn.

The Blue and Grey yarn is Hayfield Bonus Super Chunky and the Purple is from Poundstretcher (bought a few years ago), and I'm pleased I've been able to make use of yarn from my stash rather than adding to it, which is what I usually do.😉

🧣🧣 When I showed My Father the scarf he very obviously liked it, but when I told him it was actually for him he seemed genuinely surprised and pleased, and he tried it on straight away! And I'm pleased to say he did wear it out, and found it to be very warm and comfortable! A success me thinks!!😌 🧣🧣

A Proper Winter Warmer!

Tomorrow I'll share the next project, stay tuned!

     Goodbye!👋😄
