    Hello👋🥶

    Over the last 24hours it has suddenly become quite cold here. Cold enough, I decided, to put another crochet blanket on the bed. That brings the total up to three. At least one stays on the bed all year, with another added when Autumn starts. And the blanket chosen for this sudden chill? My version of Attic24's Hydrangea Blanket!

    I made this a few years ago - it took me a couple to make it too - and it has been a feature of my Autumn/Winter bedding ever since! It's quite heavy and there is quite a lot of yarn here all taken from the household stash. It was supposed to be as per the pattern but I think I went wrong on the stitch count, because it very obviously got too wide. So I decided to work into the other side of the starting chain, meaning that my stripes go up the bed, rather than across it, and I decided to mirror the colours I'd already done on the other side.

    I kept the edging to a simple Half-Treble(UK Terms) Linen Stitch, but I did go wrong with the corners as they started to twist.

    So that's three crochet blankets on the bed, how many will there be before Spring comes back?

     Hello, hello!👋😀      Well yes, it has been a while, but I am going to try this blogging lark again! I don't know what happened earlier in the year. I think I just realised that blogging was a time consuming activity that I really didn't have time for. Has anything changed now? No, but I'm going to try and be more relaxed about it all and not be so wordy.     Hello!👋😀      It's day three of Blogtober 2025 and I'm back! I'm as surprised as you are!      So here's the next project I worked on back in the early part of the year - a Sideways Tunisian Crochet Bobble Hat ! Yes, it is quite big. But at least it's warm!     I'd had this idea in my head for quite a while but didn't have the nerve to try it until January.     I first made a Sideways Bobble Hat when I was a knitter, from a well explained free pattern, worked in Garter Stitch , from WoolyWormhead . I only ever made two - a big one and a small one, but since becoming a Crocheter - and especially after learning Tunisian Crochet - I have often wondered if I could make a crocheted version, using the knitting pattern as a guide.     And as it turns out, I could!😀 And it's not too shabby either!     The main yarn is King Cole Big Value Chunky in the colour Bluegrass .      Hello!👋😀      The early part of the year turned out to be quite productive really, by my usual standards anyway!      The first thing I made was Super Chunky Scarf for my Father. I wasn't sure if he was going to wear it because to be honest, I thought I'd made it too big. And I'm not going to say it's my best work because it isn't, but as I'm not used to working with this weight of yarn I think I've done as well as I could have.     I started it on the 3rd of January and finished it on the 18th of January, working on it in the evening for no more than 2 hours, and mostly just one, so it's possibly one of my quickest makes ever!     I've used a 12mm Bamboo hook and a "new to me" stitch - the Camel Stitch .
