A Mugful Of Crochet

     Hello!👋😐      I know, don't say it, I just didn't get the time to get to the blog yesterday. Not that it was ever going to be very interesting.      I was going to tell you that on Wednesday I saw a Chiff Chaff , or possibly Willow Warbler , on one the bird dishes we have on the patio.🐦 Sadly, instead of a camera I had a mug of tea🫖 in each hand, and it was gone almost as soon as I saw it.      I was also going to tell you that later that day we had a small flock of Long Tailed Tits🐦 flitting around the garden, but again, no camera. This type of thing often happens here. You see something worth snapping and don't have a camera to hand, or it simply doesn't hang around long enough to get a picture of it. And most things do have a tendency to move when you don't want them too, which is equally frustrating!      Yesterday itself was not very interesting either.      Hello!👋😀      I admit yesterday's post was a bit naff but it does count so I'm not going to berate myself too much about it.      This is the last of the projects I completed in the first half of the year. It's small and simple, but it does have a function and it was appreciated by the recipient which, of course, made it a worthwhile make.      I really wanted to make my Mother something for her Birthday but had no idea what. But she did mention a few times that she was forever picking up the wrong glasses case because, for some daft reason, they're all the same colour. And slowly, an idea came to mind!🤔🤯😃      Now, the first thought was a simple sock-like case for the solid case to fit into, but it didn't seem like a good  idea. Hopefully you're having a pleasantly slow day with not too much "bother" interfering with things!      The weather has been bloody awful over the last couple of days here in the UK , with some places getting far worse than others, so I hope you are all safe and well, warm and dry.      We were fairly lucky here and I was actually surprised to wake up yesterday to sunny skies☀️! I actually started it before Christmas (last year), hoping to have it made in time for a present, but it didn't work out like that.      It's another hat, and for some reason I really wanted it to be something I had not only made but had worked out too, so I downloaded one of those circular hat size templates ( This One ) to at least help me get the size right.      I already had the colours chosen in my head, and the type of stitch I wanted to use but when I started... things got trickier.     Hello!👋😀      It's day three of Blogtober 2025 and I'm back! I'm as surprised as you are!      So here's the next project I worked on back in the early part of the year - a Sideways Tunisian Crochet Bobble Hat ! Yes, it is quite big. But at least it's warm!     I'd had this idea in my head for quite a while but didn't have the nerve to try it until January.     I first made a Sideways Bobble Hat when I was a knitter, from a well explained free pattern, worked in Garter Stitch , from WoolyWormhead .
