March...
Hello ππ
We've actually had some very nice sunny days this month, even some warmth too if you ignore the occasional chilly breeze. It does make a change from all the sodding (and sodden) grey days we've had over the last several months. And the flowers and blossoms have responded very well to it, so I thought I'd start this post with some pictures from the garden.
Is there anything that shouts Spring more loudly than a Daffodil? These are one of the small varieties, TΓͺte Γ TΓͺte I think.
Primroses probably top a few peoples list of spring flowers.
An Anemone. It's the only one that grows here for some reason.
The Violets are just starting to come out. For such a small flower they are incredibly pretty.
We've got an old washing-up bowl with some wonderful Forget-Me-Nots in - I love the Blue!!
The Forsythia has done well this year. Another very spring-y Yellow!
I love Flowering Currant! Like a cascade of Pinks!
The Heathers have put on an amazing display and the Bees love them...Here's a head...
And here's a tail!
And here's a Ladybird for good measure!
Violas always put on a great display, and these are only just getting started!
In Crochet news, I have nearly completed the squares I need to make my Sampler Blanket. I really want to show you this one:
This stitch is called Apache Tears and I've always wanted to try it! I'm really quite chuffed with it and can't wait to find a project to use it for!
This one is called Prairie Stitch and I found the instructions for it on the brilliant Hooked By Robin YouTube channel. It's really simple and grows quite quickly. Pretty too!
One thing that I am quite proud of this month is that I have read a book for the first time in ages! It really has been a while since I last read a book and I have really enjoyed spending time at the end of the day gazing at pages rather than a screen. Healthier too I imagine! The book in question is another collection of short stories by Robert E. Howard called, 'The Haunter Of the Ring And Other Tales'. These focus on his horror and suspense stories, whereas the other collection I have is all about his heroic characters like Conan and Solomon Kane.
Alrighty then, that's me done for now and I'll talk to you again next month.
Byeee!ππ
