    Hello!👋😃

    I hope you've all had a fab weekend?

    I've got another project for you, also from the first part of the year.

    Like my Sister's hat this one was started either last year, or possibly the year before - you'd be amazed how many unfinished WIPs I have, it's silly really!🤪

    You have actually already seen some of it - it's at the top of the page! Yes, it's my Drum Stool Cover!🥁

    It originally began life as the centre to a Granny Square but I went wrong and didn't immediately notice. Well you don't always do you? Anyway, rather than frog it or send it to the bottom of a bag forever, I decided to continue with it - without a pattern -  and see where the making process took me.

    I love the colours on this one! But sadly ran out of one of them as soon as I used it, which caused the project to stall and stay bagged for a while. Finding a match for it took quite a while because it was the remains of a ball bought years ago, and the shop it was bought from had long since closed. I couldn't see anything quite right in local yarn sellers (we don't have a proper wool shop round here anymore😞) but I found a very close match among my James C Brett Top Value DK Yarn Pegs! The colour was Boysenberry, and I'm really pleased with it!! That's the dark pinky-red one in case you were wondering.

    I can't say the maths was easy - it's never been my best subject - and it did involve a lot of counting, stitch-marking and re-counting, especially when it came to the decrease rounds. It's a miracle I'm still sane!😵‍💫

    I'm glad to say it fits really nicely, probably because I made a "buttonhole" round and threaded ribbon around it to tighten it when it was in place. And no, I haven't sat on it yet - it's too pretty sit on! And I can't play the drums either in case you were going to ask. I just have a drum stool. Well, why not?

    I bet I can beat you on the unfinished WIPs count…Im making a big effort to finish some this year!! 😇

      Thanks Caz! I am particularly pleased with it myself!😉 The surprise would be finding a yarncrafter who hasn't got any WIPs!😲

     Hello, hello!👋😀      Well yes, it has been a while, but I am going to try this blogging lark again! I don't know what happened earlier in the year. I think I just realised that blogging was a time consuming activity that I really didn't have time for. Has anything changed now? No, but I'm going to try and be more relaxed about it all and not be so wordy.     Hello!👋😀      It's day three of Blogtober 2025 and I'm back! I'm as surprised as you are!      So here's the next project I worked on back in the early part of the year - a Sideways Tunisian Crochet Bobble Hat ! Yes, it is quite big. But at least it's warm!     I'd had this idea in my head for quite a while but didn't have the nerve to try it until January.     I first made a Sideways Bobble Hat when I was a knitter, from a well explained free pattern, worked in Garter Stitch , from WoolyWormhead .      Hello!👋😀      The early part of the year turned out to be quite productive really, by my usual standards anyway!      The first thing I made was Super Chunky Scarf for my Father. I wasn't sure if he was going to wear it because to be honest, I thought I'd made it too big. And I'm not going to say it's my best work because it isn't, but as I'm not used to working with this weight of yarn I think I've done as well as I could have.     I started it on the 3rd of January and finished it on the 18th of January, working on it in the evening for no more than 2 hours, and mostly just one, so it's possibly one of my quickest makes ever!     I've used a 12mm Bamboo hook and a "new to me" stitch - the Camel Stitch .
