    Hello👋😃

    How's your week going? Have any of you had any meaningful sunshine? We nearly did, but it didn't last. Despite that, it did seem a bit brighter in the afternoon so I took a few photos of my current project.

    Now, I know what you're thinking, but this is not the finished project. This is just the first stage. I'm making an 🍂Autumnal Cushion Cover🍂 with a ball🧶 of variegated yarn from Poundstretcher, bought years ago. This is the front and it's taken the whole ball! It's about 18" across and it was originally going to be a square cushion, but when the square was complete I decided that there really wasn't enough of the yarn left to use elsewhere in any useful way, so I opted to continue stitching and make a rectangle.

    Interestingly I had no idea that it would end up striped! The ball band was mislaid some time ago but I don't remember anything about it being self-striping, but I think it has worked up really nicely!😄


   
Slightly different angle

    My idea is to now make some autumn leaves🍁 to stitch to it as if falling down, you know, all seasonal like. Not sure about Toadstools yet.🍄 And I haven't yet decided on what to do for the back, there's a few options and I have time to decide.

Moss Stitch  

    I really wanted to use the Moss Stitch for this project for the texture and the sort of speckled effect the stitch gives, which I thought would lend itself nicely to the theme. It's supposed to be Double Knitting but I ended up using a 6mm hook! Looks good though don't you think?

     Hello, hello!👋😀      Well yes, it has been a while, but I am going to try this blogging lark again! I don't know what happened earlier in the year. I think I just realised that blogging was a time consuming activity that I really didn't have time for. Has anything changed now? No, but I'm going to try and be more relaxed about it all and not be so wordy. I do tend to go on a bit!🙄      So when better to start than Blogtober ?😲 Yes, I am a little nuts but, hey-ho someone's got to be!      I've got a few things to show you from earlier in the year and a few things on the hook to share and even possibly complete before the end of the month.     Hello!👋😀      It's day three of Blogtober 2025 and I'm back! I'm as surprised as you are!      So here's the next project I worked on back in the early part of the year - a Sideways Tunisian Crochet Bobble Hat ! Yes, it is quite big. But at least it's warm!     I'd had this idea in my head for quite a while but didn't have the nerve to try it until January.     I first made a Sideways Bobble Hat when I was a knitter, from a well explained free pattern, worked in Garter Stitch , from WoolyWormhead .      Hello!👋😀      The early part of the year turned out to be quite productive really, by my usual standards anyway!      The first thing I made was Super Chunky Scarf for my Father. I wasn't sure if he was going to wear it because to be honest, I thought I'd made it too big. And I'm not going to say it's my best work because it isn't, but as I'm not used to working with this weight of yarn I think I've done as well as I could have.     I started it on the 3rd of January and finished it on the 18th of January, working on it in the evening for no more than 2 hours, and mostly just one, so it's possibly one of my quickest makes ever!     I've used a 12mm Bamboo hook and a "new to me" stitch - the Camel Stitch .
