    Hello👋😃

    Only five more posts to go! I'm surprised I've made it this far to be honest and I'm looking forward to having a rest from it but I'm going to try and make these posts count!

    Today my HobbyCraft order arrived! I've never ordered from them before but getting to the shop itself has become a little difficult so it seemed like a good idea. Especially so as I discovered that a few of my Hobbycraft Gift Vouchers were getting near their expiry date! I hadn't even realized I'd had them so long!😲

    So, what did I get?

    First up is some Purple Ribbon which I am going to use on my Drum Stool Cover to tighten it on the stool. The ribbon I had used wasn't quite what I wanted it to be so I took the opportunity to get something different.

 
 

 

    Some more Return Of The Mac yarn now. I got a couple of balls last year with the intention of making a sturdy shopping bag, or maybe some baskets, but decided I probably didn't have enough yarn to do it. And as it's not cheap, buying some more with my vouchers made it more economical.


    A pack of Keyring chains. I have a couple of ideas for these!


    A pot of PVA Glue. Because I don't have any and there is actually something I want to do with it, which means it might not just sit there and go hard like some other glues I've had have!


    And finally, Wooden Christmas Trees! I first saw these on the website last year (or the year before - I can't remember) and thought they looked really good, but I didn't see any in the local store, and now they've done them as a 3 Pack, I couldn't resist! Again, I've got a couple of ideas for these and one of them is to just leave them as they are with a bit of Wax Polish on to keep them nice. Of course with three, I could do three different trees. Hmmm?

    I have to say I'm quite pleased with my purchases, and with the service from HobbyCraft, and I can't wait to start using some of it!

     Hello, hello!👋😀      Well yes, it has been a while, but I am going to try this blogging lark again! I don't know what happened earlier in the year. I think I just realised that blogging was a time consuming activity that I really didn't have time for. Has anything changed now? No, but I'm going to try and be more relaxed about it all and not be so wordy. I do tend to go on a bit!🙄      So when better to start than Blogtober ?😲 Yes, I am a little nuts but, hey-ho someone's got to be!      I've got a few things to show you from earlier in the year and a few things on the hook to share and even possibly complete before the end of the month.     Hello!👋😀      It's day three of Blogtober 2025 and I'm back! I'm as surprised as you are!      So here's the next project I worked on back in the early part of the year - a Sideways Tunisian Crochet Bobble Hat ! Yes, it is quite big. But at least it's warm!     I'd had this idea in my head for quite a while but didn't have the nerve to try it until January.     I first made a Sideways Bobble Hat when I was a knitter, from a well explained free pattern, worked in Garter Stitch , from WoolyWormhead . I only ever made two - a big one and a small one, but since becoming a Crocheter - and especially after learning Tunisian Crochet - I have often wondered if I could make a crocheted version, using the knitting pattern as a guide.     And as it turns out, I could!😀 And it's not too shabby either!     The main yarn is King Cole Big Value Chunky in the colour Bluegrass .      Hello!👋😀      The early part of the year turned out to be quite productive really, by my usual standards anyway!      The first thing I made was Super Chunky Scarf for my Father. I wasn't sure if he was going to wear it because to be honest, I thought I'd made it too big. And I'm not going to say it's my best work because it isn't, but as I'm not used to working with this weight of yarn I think I've done as well as I could have.     I started it on the 3rd of January and finished it on the 18th of January, working on it in the evening for no more than 2 hours, and mostly just one, so it's possibly one of my quickest makes ever!     I've used a 12mm Bamboo hook and a "new to me" stitch - the Camel Stitch .
