      Hello👋😁

    Yep, I missed another day. Not my fault I can assure you, sometimes "things" get in the way of others. And one of yesterday's things was very nearly BIG. My Father noticed that the floor immediately under the washing machine, was wet!😱

    Unfortunately he didn't notice until the evening, which meant that not a lot could be done about it - but he still gave it a thorough investigation anyway! Fortunately, he discovered that the machine itself was okay and the problem was probably an old washer in need of replacement in one of the hoses at the back. He was very relieved! Hopefully it will get sorted sometime tomorrow today.

    I did manage to do that Hobbycraft order I mentioned!😃 And I was able to use some gift vouchers to pay for it, which was just as well because I found out that they were fast approaching their expiry date! I didn't even know they had one! I'll share what I ordered when it arrives.

    On the weather front, we had a much better day than expected. For days the weather forecasters had been telling us that Thursday would be the worst day of the week, what with this named storm coming in, but in fact most of the day was sunny with just a brisk breeze at times. Late afternoon and evening was when the clouds really started gathering and the wind got stronger and the rain came down heavily. It seems a bit quieter now (1:50am) but I don't suppose we've seen the end of it yet.

     Hello, hello!👋😀      Well yes, it has been a while, but I am going to try this blogging lark again! I don't know what happened earlier in the year. I think I just realised that blogging was a time consuming activity that I really didn't have time for. Has anything changed now? No, but I'm going to try and be more relaxed about it all and not be so wordy. I do tend to go on a bit!🙄      So when better to start than Blogtober ?😲 Yes, I am a little nuts but, hey-ho someone's got to be!      I've got a few things to show you from earlier in the year and a few things on the hook to share and even possibly complete before the end of the month.     Hello!👋😀      It's day three of Blogtober 2025 and I'm back! I'm as surprised as you are!      So here's the next project I worked on back in the early part of the year - a Sideways Tunisian Crochet Bobble Hat ! Yes, it is quite big. But at least it's warm!     I'd had this idea in my head for quite a while but didn't have the nerve to try it until January.     I first made a Sideways Bobble Hat when I was a knitter, from a well explained free pattern, worked in Garter Stitch , from WoolyWormhead . I only ever made two - a big one and a small one, but since becoming a Crocheter - and especially after learning Tunisian Crochet - I have often wondered if I could make a crocheted version, using the knitting pattern as a guide.     And as it turns out, I could!😀 And it's not too shabby either!     The main yarn is King Cole Big Value Chunky in the colour Bluegrass .      Hello!👋😀      The early part of the year turned out to be quite productive really, by my usual standards anyway!      The first thing I made was Super Chunky Scarf for my Father. I wasn't sure if he was going to wear it because to be honest, I thought I'd made it too big. And I'm not going to say it's my best work because it isn't, but as I'm not used to working with this weight of yarn I think I've done as well as I could have.     I started it on the 3rd of January and finished it on the 18th of January, working on it in the evening for no more than 2 hours, and mostly just one, so it's possibly one of my quickest makes ever!     I've used a 12mm Bamboo hook and a "new to me" stitch - the Camel Stitch .
