Blogtober 2025 : Post 11

      Hello👋😐

Today has not been a great day. It started rather flatly with very cloudy skies and just got worse.

The parents went out for their seasonal Flu and Covid jabs and of course came home with complaints of queues and waiting, and as the day progressed, pains in their arms. They tell me these things like I can do something about it.

There's a cat that visits the garden to stalk the birds. It's becoming a real regular and I've had to chase it off twice today. Why can't people keep their cats inside? It's safer for them and everything else!

We watched the first episode of "Murder Before Evensong" at lunchtime. Well, my Father and I did, Mother slept through most of it, and Father doesn't like it when she does that. I thought it was quite a good opener though, so shall look forward to the next episode.

Then there was dinner time. OMG. I won't go into details but mealtimes have become a frigging nightmare. So that was nice.

And then a bit later we had a film. Which played fine, if you ignore the poor sound quality, until the last 15mins when it began to stop and start so much it was unwatchable. The good guys won. What more does anyone need to know?

And now there is much confusion about when a medical appointment is actually taking place. It's one of 3 dates and that's as close as we've got.

I suppose tomorrow might be better.🤞

Bye for now,👋😴

  1. Oh dear. I’ve just recently had my flu and Covid jabs and been told I shouldnt have been sent an appointment for covid (as they are only doing over 75s and ‘vulnerable’) and I no longer qualify for vulnerable as its been over 6 months since my last chemo. I’m thinking I may be somewhere in the region of your parents’ age then.
My son very caringly messaged today to see how I was doing and if I was getting the same shite reaction to the jabs as last time. I appreciated his concern- I’m glad he messaged to ask rather than writing a whole blog post complaining about me!

    1. The "whole" post isn't complaining about my parents, it's about the day, my day, and what made it somewhat naff. Not everyone has happy-happy lives sprinkled with glitter and birdsong and sometimes we need to be honest and vent a bit. Surely a personal web space such as a blog is somewhere that can happen without judgement from other people?
